From the release of Windows Live Essentials 2009 (Wave 3) to POP3 for every Hotmail user, from Internet Explorer 8 to Windows 7 Release Candidate: there have been many happenings around Microsoft in the first half of 2009.

The Windows Live OneCare successor Microsoft Security Essentials (code name “Morro”), currently in closed beta at Microsoft Connect, has been upgraded to version 1.0.1500.0. The update is delivered using the built-in updater, and brings us a new system notification icon. The final release is expected for the end of 2009.

Windows 7 will not support the security solution Windows Live OneCare. The reason for this is the End of Life for OneCare, which will get replaced by a free alternative.
